Yesterday at the library
Louisiana native and Pullman resident Justin Cooley entertained children and
adults with his Cajun version of Little Red Riding Hood. Instead of
taking cookies or muffins, Petite Rouge rowed her pirogue to grandmama’s
bringing her a basket of gumbo biscuits, crawfish etouffee and boudin. Yum!
Yum! And no, there was no hungry wolf in this tale – instead, it was big
ole’ hungry gator – who tried to impersonate grandmama. But Petite Rouge
was not fooled one little bit and thankfully, the story ending happily ever
after – just in time for everyone at the library to join Mr. Cooley in the
“Crawfish Shuffle!”
