It was a jammed pack day of fun at the library
yesterday! Elementary kids used their imaginations to make some incredible
Legos creations. They also found imagination as a running theme in the
books they enjoyed with Children’s Librarian Kathleen Ahern.
Later in the afternoon teens had a deliciously decadent time
at their “Chocolate Mania” program. A chocolate get-to-know-you ice
breaker, along with a chocolate relay race, chocolate guessing activity and a
“what kind of candy bar is this” sleuthing game made for a fun time for
all. Best of all, there was no shortage of chocolate treats to enjoy … a
cascading cake with bowls of ice cream and cupsful of candy were
devoured. And perhaps best of all, teens were able to choose two new
books to take home and savor!
The Summer Reading Program continues with weekly storytimes every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30. In addition, Cajun Storyteller Justin Cooley will entertain next Tuesday (July 14) at 1:00. Get ready for whole new Cajun version of Little Red Riding Hood and of course, he’s going to get us moving and shaking with the Crawfish Shuffle too! Join us for all the fun!
