We're celebrating National Children's Book Week

Neill Public Library is joining libraries around the country to celebrate National Children’s Book Week. This is the 91st observance of this national event which encourages everyone to enjoy great books with children of all ages.

Highlights of the week:

• PAWS For Fines. We will waive your overdue fines with a donation of non-clumping kitty litter or unopened bags/boxes of dog or cat food. These items will be donated to the Whitman County Human Society.

• Children and youth ages birth through teen are invited to sign up each day they come to the library to be eligible to win free books and other prizes provided by the Friends of Neill Public Library. A random drawing will take place at the conclusion of the week and prize winners will be notified.

• Staff will be dressed as book characters on Thursday and Friday, May 14 and 15. Throughout the week, patrons are encouraged to join staff in donning interesting and fun hats as we celebrate “Hats off to National Children’s Book Week.”

For more information about the week, contact Children’s Librarian, Kathleen Ahern at (509) 338-3258.
