Celebrating National Library Week

It’s National Library Week, a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide. Join library staff in this importatnt celebration! Library staff will be proudly wearing their library shirts, special book displays and collections will be highlighted throughout the week, an the Friends of Neill Public Library will be on-site Wednesday and Thursday, April 14-15, to chat with you. Learn more about this important organization and how you can support your library! 

“Libraries are the heart of every community and our library helps our community thrive,” says Joanna Bailey, Temporary Library Services Manager. “At our library, people of all backgrounds come together for community meetings and programs, to do research with the assistance of a trained professional, to get help finding a job or for assistance in locating the perfect recreational reading material.”

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. This year the honorary chair is author Neil Gaiman.
