Dr. Elsa Kirsten Peters, local author and WSU professor, will be speaking April 14th at 2 pm at Neill Public Library. Join us in the Hecht Meeting Room as Dr. Peters shares her enthusiasm for science via an author talk, then engages in audience Q&A, with a book signing to follow. Copies of her new book, Planet Rock Doc: Nuggets from Explorations of the Natural World, will be available for purchase from WSU Press, and patrons with Neill Public Library cards will be able to place holds on a library copy of the new book.
Dr. Peters’ writing career is based on making science fun and accessible to the public. Her “Rock Doc” news column now appears in over 200 newspapers, including the Daily News, and she has appeared on Northwest Public Radio to speak about a variety of science topics.
A graduate of Princeton University, Dr. Peters taught at WSU for 10 years before moving to her current position as Director of the Office of Major Grant Development for the WSU’s Agricultural Research Center.
