Adult SRP Event: Literary Speed Dating

Remember when you met your favorite book?  You'd spend hours together.  You loved every clever line, each moment of heart-racing suspense.  You came back to those favorite passages again and again, the ones that spoke to your heart like you were the only reader in the world.

Next Saturday, to kick off the Adult Summer Reading Program, we're offering you the chance to find a new book that will speak to your heart, and to share your favorite title with someone else so they can fall in love just like you did.  Literary Speed Dating will begin at 3pm in the Hecht Meeting Room on Saturday, June 1st.

Registration is not required, nor will participants be paired off to make a romantic connection: The goal is for participants to find a reading connection.  The program is therefore open to all adults, regardless of age or romantic status or inclination.

**We ask that you come prepared with information about your favorite book-- the physical book if possible (bring your own, or check the catalog to see if we have it!) or at least the title and author information.**  This way, you will be prepared to have conversations with other readers.

It doesn't matter what you're favorite book is, you are encouraged to come!  Fiction, mystery, sci-fi, a work of nonfiction that changed your life, a YA novel, or even a juvenile book from your childhood that you still return to as an adult: whatever your favorite book is, come and advocate for it, find new readers for it.  You'll find some new books, too, as you hear from others which books are on their shelves.

Life is too short to read books you don't enjoy.
