Your Freedom to View

Along with your Freedom to Read, the American Library Association and libraries throughout the country also support your Freedom to View, and to Speak, and to Hear.  These are all components of each person's First Amendment rights, that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Print materials are not the only way people learn, participate in discussion, or enjoy stories.  Just like reading a book or other print material, the only person who can decide if a website-- or DVD, audiobook, or news broadcast-- is right for you is you.
