Be well, do good work, and keep in touch.

Friday is another day of goodbyes at Neill, as not one but two staff both say adieu before moving on to new adventures.

Caitlin (standing, left, in costume last National Library Week, April 2013) has been indispensable in both Technical Services and Shelving.  Both of these departments are more behind-the-scenes, but the work in each is crucial to library operations.  Caitlin has been our go-to staff member for books that need repair or discs that need cleaning; she also processes new materials-- laminating them, adding all the appropriate stickers, and otherwise making new books, DVD, and other materials ready to go out onto the shelves for you to browse.

And she then shelves those new materials, and all the other items returned, when she switches to her shelving hat!  Reshelving materials truly is a task with no end, but on top of that, shelvers spend time shelf-reading, to be sure all the books on a shelf are in correct order, and shifting materials, moving them around to make more room.  We appreciate the efficiency with which Caitlin always accomplishes these tasks and more!

Hopefully we'll still be seeing Caitlin frequently: her talents have been snapped up by WSU libraries, where she'll soon be starting a full-time job. yIghoSDo', Caitlin!

We are also very sad to lose the many varied talents of Jodi (kneeling, left) in Circulation, but happy for her to start a new chapter in her life.  Jodi has been a cornerstone in the Circulation and Shelving departments, as the full-time Library Assistant.  As such, she not only takes shifts in shelving and at the circulation desk, but she helps hire and train new staff, helps run the Grand Avenue Book Club, coordinates with patrons regarding problem or missing items, and otherwise has made herself a completely invaluable member of the Neill team.

Jodi has the excellent opportunity to work at the Montana State University Library in Bozeman, where she will be able to be close to loved ones in that area.  How lucky they are!

We will miss you both!
