The library is a great place to learn a new skill-- a language, a cooking technique, a handicraft, technology skills, job skills, life skills, and more. In this new quasi-monthly blog series, we'll bring you products, projects, and other examples that are the result of someone getting inspired at the library.
Inspiration can take many forms. Yes, it's following the instructions in a book or manual to come up with a finished project fairly close to what you anticipated. It can also be more loosely-defined: painting a watercolor after reading an especially emotional poem, becoming involved in a local not-for-profit group after connecting with a moving section in work of fiction or nonfiction. If you have a product of library inspiration that you'd like to share, please contact Sarah Morrison at the library to share your story.
Our first tale of inspiration is a quilt made by Friends of the Library member and library volunteer Linhda.
Linhda-- who now runs the Sew Happy group-- is a mostly-self-taught sewer and quilter. Pictured here is the first quilt she ever made. This was made for one of her children, following a pattern in the book 24-Hour Quilts by Rita Weiss. Beautiful!
