Many people tried to teach me how to knit over the years, but it just wouldn't click for me. I figured it would be one of those skills I would never acquire, a talent that is impressive in other people, always to be admired from afar.
Until this. This series made techniques understandable for me; now I feel myself moderately proficient.
After challenging myself with more complex projects over the last year or two-- well, more complex than the squares and rectangles of washcloths and scarves-- I felt confident enough to try something I thought complex enough to enter into our local county fair. With good instruction books and the help of knitters in the library's weekly Good Yarns program (Fridays at 1pm), I feel up to the challenge of socks, sweaters, and more!
(I found the pattern for this sweater online, actually. [see blog policy information regarding external links.])
