Adult Summer Reading Program starts Monday!

If you thought the Summer Reading Program was just for kids, guess again!

The benefits of reading extend throughout our lives.  Reading fiction can help us be more empathetic; reading self-help titles can alleviate depression.  Reading is one of the many mentally-stimulating activities that can help keep help keep your brain sharp and engaged and, as part of a nighttime routine, can even help you get a better night's sleep.

So not only is reading good for you, but there's the added bonus that we make the Adult Summer Reading Program fun, with great prizes and super-easy ways to participate.

To win one of our fabulous weekly, monthly, or summer-long prizes:

1.  Check out books from Neill Public Library.  It can be anything!-- a novel, a nonfiction work, an audiobook, a magazine, even a picture book or downloadable title from OverDrive.
2.  Start reading the book on or after June 2nd.
3.  Finish reading the book before August 15th.
4.  For every NPL book that you finished reading, fill out a drawing slip and enter it into the box.  We'll pick random winners every week, at the end of every month, and at the end of the program on August 15th.

There will also be prizes and great fun to be had at our upcoming presentations associated with the Adult Summer Reading Program, including local and regional authors and experts.  Check back here often to catch all the announcements and updates, and (of course!) come by the library to get all the information all summer long.

The Adult Summer Reading Program is open to all NPL card-holders 18 and over.
