"A Bird's Eye View" with Rick Thompson

Rick Thompson will give his presentation “A Bird’s-Eye View of the Lake Missoula Floods” beginning at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, July 9th. This library event will be held at the RTOP Theatre, 122 N Grand Avenue, in Pullman.

Rick, president of the Lower Columbia Chapter of the Ice Age Flood Institute, uniquely combines his expertise on the path of the flood with his talent of mapping, illustrating, and conveying the information in an artistic form that is revealing and easily understood.  This presentation focuses on the Lake Missoula Floods, which shaped much of the region, from the Rockies to the Pacific Coast.  These catastrophic floods pushed 500 cubic miles of water, ice, and mud across Eastern Washington, altering land formations and leaving behind erratics throughout the region.  Rick will share photos from his flights over the region, charting the paths of these floods.

Neill Public Library thanks Regional Theatre of the Palouse for their partnership in this event.
