This month marks the 148th birthday of renowned children’s author and illustrator Beatrix Potter. From an early age she showed a remarkable talent with sketching and drawing. Her favorite subjects were the animals present in her life. She and her younger brother had a number of pets including rabbits, mice, frogs, lizards, snakes, snails and even, a bat. She was charmed by these living creatures and wanted to capture that in her renderings of them. Any reader of her works knows she succeeded on every level!
