Halloween

Are you on the hunt (or haunt?) for Halloween ideas, recipes, crafts or costumes?  How about some ghoulish stories to enjoy by the light of a campfire or a flashlight in a darkened bedroom? BOO!

You need look no further than the shelves at the library.  Halloween picture books abound – from old time favorites like The Biggest Pumpkin Ever by Steven Kroll and The Trip by Ezra Jack Keats to newer delights including Click Clack Boo by Doreen Cronin and Five Little Monkeys Trick or Treat by Eileen Christelow.

Don’t forget to check out some nonfiction books as well.  Maybe Halloween Is by Gail Gibbons or The Story of Halloween by Carol Greene will be just the right treats for you?  Perhaps it’s also time to add some poetry like Who Said Boo by Nancy Carlstrom or something to tickle your funny bone like Hilarious Halloween Jokes by Alison Grambs.

For some hands-on fun be sure and check out A Halloween Cookbook: Simple Recipes for Kids by Sarah Schuette, Carving Pumpkins by Dana Rau or Clever Costume Creating for Halloween by Suzanne Singleton.

It’s all treats with no tricks at the library.  Check some boo-tiful books today!
