National Stress Awareness Day

STRESS!  STRESS!  STRESS!  Just the word itself can cause our hearts to beat a bit faster and our whole body to feel as though we’re about to topple from the proverbial cliff.  It’s everywhere, due to the hectic lifestyle we’ve created and find ourselves in more often than not. When was the last time you just did “nothing”?  Just sat, relaxed and breathed?  If you can’t remember, it’s probably time to do just that.

And here’s the good news! The library is here to help you de-stress! Yes!  We have a variety of resources to support your efforts to bring more calm and serenity to yourself and your life. Here are just a few:
The End to Stress as We Know It by Bruce McEwen
Stress Relief Yoga for Beginners (DVD)
Stress Reduction for Busy People by Dawn Groves
The Mindful Child:  How to Help Your Kid Manage Stress and Become Happier, Kinder and More Compassionate by Susan Greenland
Eliminating Stress, Finding Inner Peace by Brian Weiss (electronic resource)

Letting Go of Stress by Emmett Miller (CD)
