Communicate Through Touch!

Touch is the very first of our senses that we acquire, and the secret weapon in all relationships in life.
The bond between a child and its parents begins in the womb with the vibrations of a mother's heartbeat.  The placement of a father's hand on the belly when a child kicks. Is it any wonder then, that touch plays a vital role in the parent-child relationship from the beginning. Touch is an essential method of communicating feelings and emotions, whether positive or negative. The more you touch your child, the more you will be able to understand what it is they are trying to communicate to you.

Jill Herbold, LMT and Esther Sanders, LMT will be at the library at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2014 to conduct a workshop on child and infant massage. Caregivers of infants and children can learn with lecture and hands on demonstration with their children. The goal is to experience massage and how positive touch makes a difference in the relationship between parent and child and promotes healthy families one massage at a time.
