Dirk Schulze-Makuch, local author and WSU professor, will be speaking at Neill Public Library on April 24th, at 5:30 pm. Join us in the Hecht Meeting Room to hear Dr. Schulze-Makuch speak about his new book, Megacatastrophes!: Nine Strange Ways the World Could End (written with coauthor David Darling, Ph.D., of Dundee, Scotland.)
Dr. Schulze-Makuch will give an author talk, followed by Q&A with the public and then a book signing. Copies of the book will be available for purchase on-site through The Bookie.
Dr. Schulze-Makuch is a professor, teaching at the School of Earth & Environmental Sciences, and director of the Laboratory for Astrobiological Investigations and Space Mission Planning at Washington State University; he has written four other books and numerous scholarly articles on life, or the possibilities thereof, elsewhere in the universe. His 2009 book, Voids of Eternity: Alien Encounters is available for check out or reserve from NPL. Patrons with Neill Public Library cards will be able to place holds on a library copy of the new book.
