The Importance of Breakfast!

National Better Breakfast Month
Cock-a-doodle-doo!  It’s time to celebrate the most important meal of the day … breakfast!  Yes, it’s National Better Breakfast Month – the perfect time to try some new recipes and enjoy some favorite-first-meals-of-the-day-recipes.
Neill Library has no shortage of wonderful cookbooks to kick-start your plans for the griddle, skillet, blender, oven or toaster.  First things first might include checking out Cheryl Jamison’s, A Real American Breakfast: The Best Meal of the Day Anytime of the Day. From Rancho Tortilla Espanola to Country-Fried Steak With Onions, she’s has a recipe for every eater!
You won’t find recipes more tested and perfected than those included in America’s Test Kitchen Cookbook which features a mouth-watering eggs, asparagus, and ham and gruyere frittata for breakfast.
And for a healthy start to your day, make sure and include some of the great smoothies and nondairy milk recipes included in Forks Over Knives: The Plant-Based Way to Health, edited by Gene Stone.
Yum! Just writing about this makes me want to sit down and feast.  If you get the hankering for something good and tasty, head to the library.  Maybe we can meet and share our culinary plans in the cookbook aisle – right in the 641.5 area! Happy Better Breakfast Month indeed!
