OverDrive, your Nook, and our eReaders

Two notes for you today:

1.  The eReaders are here!  Actually here, in the building, and you could check one out!  The holds lists are not yet full!  There's space for you!  Can you tell by all my exclamation marks that I think you should be excited, too?

Honestly, this is a great program, a great opportunity for you to read titles not in the collection, and to try out an eReader device, no cost, no commitment.  We aren't trying to sell you anything.  Call the Information Desk (509-338-3254) to place your hold.

2.  We understand that there is a new app for Nook Color and Nook Tablet users.  From OverDrive:
Last week, Barnes & Noble added the OverDrive Media Console app to the NOOK Apps™ storefront. This NOOK app enables users to wirelessly borrow eBooks and MP3 audiobooks from the library.
So, if you have a Nook Color, Tablet, HD, or HD+, you should now be able to check out and download library eBooks directly from your device.  Instructions from OverDrive are here.  More information on the app is available here.  This simplified process should be more user-friendly.  As always, if you have any concerns while trying to use OverDrive, just send us an email or Book a Librarian.

I tried out the Overdrive app on my nook and the download worked great. More convenient than having to attach to a computer, even though I didn’t think that was much of a problem.
