The library isn't acting as a dating service, at least not between people. But why not fall in love with a new book? For Valentine's Day (and Library Lover's Month!) go out on a limb with a Blind Date with a Book!
Will yours be mystery, romance, paranormal, readable nonfiction, or something else? That's the mystery!
No trying to peek through the wrapping; the only indicators of what's inside is the book's bar code written on the outside, and the staff are sworn to secrecy!
No matter what you get, I encourage you give it a try. Maybe you'll end up with a title you wouldn't normally choose; don't just bring it right back. Read a chapter. Read two. Commit to read at least a bit of the book. Maybe the writing style initially is an off-putter, but by page 45 you're really getting to care about the characters. You just might find your new favorite author, a genre worth exploring, a character you now can't live without. This book might change your reading life!
So come in, pick one up at random, and take it home! And if it doesn't work out between you two, you really can still be friends.
